All I Want For Christmas…
…is my two front teeth! Which Isabelle now has! Teething has not been fun. She’s been really cranky lately, but finally her second tooth broke through yesterday. Now we’re on the watch for her upper front teeth. I know it would be great to take a picture of her first tooth, but I can’t get her to sit still long enough and open her mouth to get a picture.
We’re settling into Colorado and learning more and more about the city. Yesterday we took Samson to the local dog park and explored one of the many parks here, which has an amazing playground and splash park. Tomorrow we plan on going on a hike through the mountains, something Luke and I haven’t done since we were dating. We feel so at home here! I just have one more box to unpack, and a couple things to go in the basement for storage. I promise I’ll post pictures once that’s all done!
Just In Time
Tropical Storm Fay hit Florida one week after we closed and moved. I’d say we sold just in the nick of time! I’ve been hearing from our realtor and other friends in the Debary area that streets were flooded, homes were flooding and there were even fish swimming in the streets. I found this video of a neighborhood just a couple miles from out house where people were being evacuated. I’m so glad I live in Colorado!

We shot some photos at the local park today. Click on the picture to see the album.
In Canada
After a very long drive from Colorado to Canada, we arrived this morning at 1:30am. Today we relaxed at the park and hung out with Grandma and Grandpa Knowles and Great Grandma Glady. Here are some of my favorite shots from the park.
First Tooth!
Today I felt Izzy’s first tooth! It is the bottom front tooth. I think she has another one coming in also which is the tooth next to the one she already has.
I was wondering why she was so fussy lately. I thought it was the move, but teething could have also been the reason.
In other news we have unpacked most of our stuff. We still have the office to set up. But at least most of the rooms are done.
We are leaving for Canada tomorrow morning and will be there until around August 25. We can’t wait to see everyone and get a little bit of relaxation in.
We’re Home in Colorado!
Whew it’s been a crazy couple of days. Isabelle and I flew out to Colorado on Sunday. Izzy did great on the plane and slept most of the way here. After gathering all my bags and Izzy’s bags I rented a car and drove to Fort Collins. When I entered Fort Collins I found myself grinning because I saw the mountains and the clear blue sky and rolled the windows down to enjoy the fresh cool air.
On Monday I ran around town viewing rental properties and applied for the best house that I saw. I was a little worried that my application would not get processed in time to get the house by Wednesday, but today I received a call from the leasing agent who had processed my application in a couple hours. I go in tomorrow to sign the lease. This little house is a God-send!
Most of the nicer properties are already rented since it’s the beginning of the school year for Colorado State University. Most properties also require a one year lease which is a little too long for us since we want to build in the next month or so.
This little house is perfect for us. Three bedroom plus a loft, 2.5 bath with an itty bitty backyard. Good thing there’s a nice open area just across the street from the house for Samson. The owners of this house wanted a 9 month lease with the option to go month to month as long as we’re okay with the house being on the market at that time. So it’s perfect for us!
Luke and his dad are heading through Kansas City right now and expect to be in Denver by tomorrow afternoon. I will be meeting them at the rental car place where I will be returning my rental. We’ll drive straight from Denver to the rental house in Fort Collins and hopefully unload everything tomorrow afternoon. It’s going to be a busy day!
I may be silent for a couple more days while we get settled and figure out our trip to Canada, but I’ll post when I can.
It’s a Done Deal!
Well folks we are officially homeless! That’s right we closed today and everyone signed on the dotted line.
Izzy and I fly off to Colorado on Sunday morning to look for a rental home while Luke and his dad have the fun job of driving our car and massive UHaul.
We are so glad that we had help packing and loading yesterday from Jennifer and Arissa. We don’t think we could have done it without them.
Packing Up and Moving Out!
We have final commitment from the buyers lender to close on Friday (whew). So today and tomorrow is packing and moving day! We’re probably 75% packed up right now and tomorrow will be the last of the packing and loading the truck. We have some friends coming to help pack and load as well as watch Izzy while all this excitement is happening. Samson is spending the rest of the week with a friend and will have a blast and get lots of love!
Canadian Baby
Alright…whoever got Isabelle this outfit must be someone from Canada… Unfortunately she won’t fit into it for much longer because she’s getting too tall.
Speaking of Canada, for those of you wondering when we’re actually going to make it up there, we will be driving Luke’s dad back up to Canada after we move to Colorado. Our goal is to be in Canada by August 16. Since we’re driving, our return date to the States is really flexible. Hope to see as many people as we can while we’re out there though!
House update: The buyers FINALLY have all their paperwork into the lender and we have a verbal commitment from their lender that we will close on Friday. I’d feel more comfortable to have that commitment in writing however.
Copycat
Izzy’s starting to copy things that Luke and I do. Example…
