8 Months!
I can’t believe Isabelle is 8 months old today! Time has flown by. Pretty soon she’ll be crawling, walking, running and talking and turning 1 year old! Where has my precious little baby gone!!! We went to a play group today. Here’s a picture of all the mom’s and babies that were there.

Love at First Sight?
This past weekend we hosted a mini John Brown University reunion. There were about 9 JBU’ers that came over to our house with their spouses and significant others. One couple was actually with Luke and I the day that we met 4 and a half years ago. They gave us some photos from that day.
We met on Luke’s birthday on Copper Mountain in 2004, while we were snowboarding. On the way back to Colorado Springs we stopped at Beau Jos Pizza for dinner. Luke and I sat next to each other at the table, but didn’t say a word to each other. Can you see the sparks flying?! It wasn’t until a couple months later that we started dating.
We’re Building a House!
I must say, finding a permanent house for us has been in the works for over a year. Ever since we decided to move to Fort Collins over a year ago we’ve been looking at building a house on the outskirts of Fort Collins. We had a model picked out and knew what lot we wanted to build on. When we first moved here we went to talk to the builder again and realized that the lot we wanted wouldn’t be available for YEARS. After trying to get a few other lots, we kept running into a dead end.
Luke decided to look online to see what communities were being built in Fort Collins. He found a local builder that builds craftsman style homes. Last weekend we went to tour the model and fell in love (the model is pictured above). This particular model has 3 bedrooms and 3 and a half bathrooms, plus a loft and unfinished basement. We will convert the third car garage into our home office, and eventually finish off the basement so that we have plenty of room for guests.
Amazingly enough, there was a lot available which had everything we were looking for. Mountain view, big backyard and backing out onto a little community garden. The neighborhood has EVERYTHING. Elementary, middle and high schools are all within walking distance of the house and have great ratings. Down the street is slotted to be a 100 acre park with sports fields, open area and playgrounds.
After a week of working on putting a contract together with the builder we have everyone signed off on the dotted lines. We’re hoping to close on the house in June 2009. I know it seems like a long ways off, but we’re excited to be able to see our house being built and pick out what goes on the inside.
TOYS TOYS TOYS!
Chasing Samson
Here’s a video of Isabelle chasing Samson around using her walker. She’s starting to really cruise around the house in it! I think she likes the freedom. Not sure about Samson though…
The Knowles Hotel
Luke and I were talking a couple nights ago and we realized that ever since we moved in, we’ve had non-stop company. We love it though! It’s so nice to be around friends and family that can actually visit. At first we had Luke’s dad, Nate has spent the night a couple times with us, then Luke’s friend Seth was out last weekend visiting, and now Jesse is with us for at least a couple weeks.
It’s so nice to be able to host friends and family and have people to hang out with. Life is definitely not as boring as it was in Florida!
Isabelle has been a very good baby lately. I’ve been able to set her on the floor behind me with a bunch of toys and work. I think she’s trying to crawl as well. She hasn’t quite got her knees under her yet, but you can tell she’s trying to crawl with her arms. I give her one more month before she’s off and going!
She loves her walker which allows her to roam the main floor. She’s already tried to pull all my dvds off a shelf and she’s now learned to chase after Samson to get kisses from him. I’m not sure if Sammy likes a big old walker coming straight for him though…
Home Sweet Home (for now)
We literally have one more box to unpack, and it’s a box of magazines. However, we’ve settled into the house and are even looking forward to have our first guest tonight. Click on the photo to see more pictures of our house for at least the next 9 months.
