Sick
Last week I started to come down with what seemed like a regular cold, which is common for me if I have days of little sleep. However this weekend it looked like it was lingering a little longer than usual so Luke and I went into the Urgent Care clinic to make sure it wasn’t anything worse than a common cold.
Turns out I have Influenza A. Education lesson…H1N1 is a type/strain of Influenza A. Just because I tested positive for Influenza A doesn’t necessarily mean that I have H1N1. Further testing would need to be done to make that conclusion, however I don’t have a doctor that will do those tests. For now, I’m on prescription cough medicine, Tylenol and much needed rest.
Baby #2 is doing okay. In talking with my midwife about it she assured me that the sack around the baby will keep him/her perfectly safe during this sickness. If I don’t have a fever on Friday I’ll go in for my first prenatal appointment and a thorough check over.
Today, Isabelle came down with a fever, even though she was her normal active self! She’s now on a nasty tasting prescription to help prevent her from getting Influenza A and Tylenol for the fever. Unfortunately she’s having a hard time keeping down these meds since they taste terrible and she has a really bad gag reflex. I think Luke cleaned up 3 puke messes today…
Luke, so far is feeling fine which I am thankful for. At least one of us needs to be well enough to take care of the rest of the sick family! Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

BBRR
It snowed here today for the first time this season. Yesterday it was 56 degrees. That’s Colorado! Izzy found my running ear muff headband thing and surprisingly put it on correctly!
Visitors
The past two weeks have been busy. Uncle Jesse was here with us for a week, then we had one weekend to ourselves and then came Luke’s cousin Steen for Monday and Tuesday this week. Luke and Stein hiked Gray Rock on Tuesday. Unfortunately both of them forgot cameras, so there’s no proof that they were actually there.
While we were in California Izzy learned how to say Uncle Jim’s name. Actually it sounds more like “JAH” but we think she’s trying really hard to say “Jim”. Then when Jesse was here she learned how to say his name. She’s getting better at it and now it actually sounds like “JAH-SEE”. I really need to get her to say things in front of the camera. Now we’re trying to teach her “grandma” before Grandma Knowles and Great Grandma Glady come to visit at the end of October.
