Our Christmas Letter
Many families I know send out a Christmas/end of the year recap letter. Since I have a blog I don’t plan on sending one out. Let’s say I’m saving the trees and saving YOU from paper cuts. Plus if you follow my blog you basically know what’s been going on this year.
However here are a few things that I find important enough to recap:
The beginning of the year brought new people to our company. Now that we have a small office on the side of our house we have a part-time intern, one full-time employee and two contractors who work hours as they wish. Luke continues to dream up new websites which keep our company growing. Sometime next year we hope to move the company to it’s own office space outside of our house, as well as bring on one more full-time employee and a couple more interns. We are thankful that we are able to keep people employed and continue to grow in this economy.
Izzy will turn two at the end of January. I can’t believe how fast she is growing up! She knows over 50 words now and has become a little bossy, telling people to sit down in particular places or telling me to go get her something that she wants. Even though she’s bossy she’s very polite and will say “please” and “thank you”. Her baby dolls are now her favorite toys and she’s learning that the growing bump on mamma is “mamma’s baby”.
Baby #2 will join our family mid next year. I’m thankful that this pregnancy has been relatively uneventful and even more thankful that the morning sickness and exhaustion seems to be dying off. The holiday season is a helpful distraction from my growing belly.
We have now been in our home for just about 6 months and still loving it! It will be a slow process to hang curtains and pictures to really finish off the interior but it will get there eventually. Once we find out the sex of baby #2 we’ll start transitioning Izzy to her “big girl” room after it’s properly painted, furnished and decorated and then we’ll start decorating the nursery appropriately.
Samson is getting older. He’s now about 3 and a half years old. Unfortunately he doesn’t get the attention he use to before we had Izzy, but he’s adjusted well to Izzy, lets her pull his ears, chase his tail and sit on him. He loves having a big backyard to run around in and has made friends with the little dog behind us and the big dogs in front of us.
Next week we are heading down to Colorado Springs to spend Christmas with the entire Low family. We are glad that we are able to spend time with my side of the family this Christmas but are sad that we are missing out on the Knowles festivities in Canada as well. Hopefully we will see the Knowles side of the family in the beginning of the New Year.
Now we’ll leave you with this. Happy Birthday Jesus, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and may you all find true joy this holiday season.
With love,
Luke, Maisie, Isabelle and Samson
