Yes, I’m slacking on keeping my blog updated. It’s going to be a packed 4 months ahead of me so I’ve been trying to get stuff done before the madness of fourth quarter hits.
Big news in the Knowles household is that JoJo is WALKING! Has been for a couple weeks now. JoJo is now testing out new surfaces to walk on, refuses to crawl anywhere and generally tries to keep up with Izzy. She even tried to get on Izzy’s scooter and big girl bike. No, I don’t have a video to post. Again, I know I’m slacking!
Next big news is that Izzy starts preschool in 10 days! Well, actually she’s missing the first one or two days of school, but it’s preschool. What possibly could she miss that would be of great importance?

Since JoJo slept through her cake and ice cream at the birthday party in Canada, I felt a maternal obligation to make sure she got her first birthday cake with ice cream, and the obligatory family picture with a birthday cake. So a couple days ago I threw together a plan for a birthday party re-do and got cooking! I made an adorable birthday cake (pictured above and yes it’s all edible), tons of cupcakes (just in case we ran out of cake) and baked some pizzas.
I think spring has arrived in Colorado, although there are days when it seems to dip back into the freezing zone. Overall though, it feels warmer outside and green grass is peeking through. Spring is my favorite season. The flowers bloom, it’s just warm enough to play outside but not yet blazing hot.
Last summer it was my intent to plant a garden, however once JoJo arrived it became last on my priority list. This summer I am determined to plant a garden. I’m planting culinary herbs, berries, lettuce and heirloom tomatoes. I’m a newbie at gardening so I’ll be happy just to see at least a few sprouts. Last weekend I started all of my seeds inside. I’m anxiously awaiting some green to appear and watering religiously.
