Baby Shower for a Little Man

Here’s what I’ve been helping plan for the last few weeks for Hannah. She’s having her fourth baby and first boy, so of course an amazing baby shower was top priority! Of course, a shower of this scale needed some serious woman-power. A total of 6 girls pitched in to pull off a super sweet [...]

Craft: Crayon Valentines

Izzy and I made Valentines for her friends at school. Our Best Bites was the brain child, we just copied their idea and made our own label =)

Happy 4th Birthday Izzy!

My little girl is getting bigger and older!! It’s hard to believe that it’s been 4 years since Isabelle joined our lives. On Izzy’s birthday, the intent was to fill her room with pink and purple balloons. Unfortunately she had a rough night so the balloons were outside her door when she woke up. I [...]

Craft: Mason Jar Snow Globes

I was thinking about an easy and unique craft to do at Izzy’s birthday party. Here’s what I came up with. Click through the pictures to get a step by step for this fun craft. You can make it more “adult-ish” by using different figurines that you can find in the model train aisle of [...]

Bringing Gifts

Every year I make gifts for Izzy’s teachers/coaches. This year, time got away from me and it was only last week that I realized that I forgot to get that together! This year I needed to include JoJo’s teachers meaning double the number of gifts. So I threw some things together. I bought some cute [...]

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

This year I was determined to have a “homemade” Christmas. That meant that I was going to make all my Christmas decorations, make all my ornaments, and make all the stockings. Originally, I thought it was a good idea, however once November hit, I realized that I didn’t give myself enough time to get everything [...]

Vacation & Ice Cream Social

In July we ventured down to Colorado Springs to visit my friend Julie and her newest baby. We also took the cog railway up to Pikes Peak with the girls. That was something I would not do again in the near future with little ones. Both the girls screamed on the 1 hour ride up the mountain, then almost had meltdowns on the ride down. Maybe in 10 years we’ll try that ride again!

The first week of September we took a family vacation back to The Tyler Place. Luke was sick the whole week which was not so fun, but I still enjoyed the concept of eating meals without kids and actually having time to read a book and relax. The girls had a great time at camp. Izzy caught her first fish, JoJo “made” some art projects and they both made some friends. Even though it was a great vacation I think we’ll switch it up next year and try a different location.

This weekend we hosted an ice cream social for our company. Everyone was required to either show up in 50′s style or have to hola hoop for their ice cream. It was so much fun!

JoJo is fully walking and it’s a little crazier around the house with two little ones running around. JoJo is working on her vocabulary. So far she can say hi, bye, mama, dada, duck, milk and kinda says bunny, puppy and Izzy. She’s 22 lbs and eats more than Izzy does. Her favorite thing is her bunny blanket thing that she refuses to go anywhere without and freaks out if anyone tries to take it away from her. Now that JoJo is 1 and fully walking she goes to Mother’s Day Out while Izzy is at preschool on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. She’s doing great with drop offs not only at school but at the church nursery. JoJo also started attending the music class that Izzy started off in.

Izzy started preschool last week. Dropping her off on her first day of school was rough as expected. However on her second day she placed her name on the “present” board and chose a happy face to display how she was feeling that day. Our neighbor Theo is also in the same class as Izzy and they always have a great time at school together. Other than preschool on Tuesday and Thursdays, Izzy’s enrolled in soccer, pre-piano music class and dance. It makes for a busy week!

The Cutest Baby Shower…

My friend Hannah and I threw a baby shower for our mutual friend. It was probably the cutest baby shower ever (and I know that sounds totally conceited)!

Hannah made a delish summer pasta salad, served with bread and fruit. I did some cake pops and brownie bites for desserts. She crafted adorable puff balls that hung from her awesome tree. We dressed up the tables with burlap runners and tablecloths. We stuck my crafty pinwheels wherever we could, sent guests home with handfuls of lollipop thank you’s. Guests helped make pages of a scrapbook for mom to be.

Head over to Hannah’s blog and read all about it and see the rest of the pictures to take in the major cuteness of it all.

Happy Birthday JoJo!

Since JoJo slept through her cake and ice cream at the birthday party in Canada, I felt a maternal obligation to make sure she got her first birthday cake with ice cream, and the obligatory family picture with a birthday cake. So a couple days ago I threw together a plan for a birthday party re-do and got cooking! I made an adorable birthday cake (pictured above and yes it’s all edible), tons of cupcakes (just in case we ran out of cake) and baked some pizzas.

Mother’s Day and Anniversary

The month of May has been packed full of activities. Last week for Mother’s Day we met my parents in Denver for a great brunch. Luke surprised me with a Kindle which has allowed me to catch up on my reading whenever I can. Izzy and I made a cute little pot of picture flowers for my mom.

This weekend was our sixth anniversary, so we celebrated by getting sitter for the night and headed to Denver for 24 hours sans children. We thoroughly enjoyed our time together and managed to sleep in a little and relax at the hotel spa. I think this will be an annual tradition.
